A little about me

Overdale Studios is where I explore painting as an instinctive, physical process. I work without a fixed plan, allowing colour, movement, and repetition to guide each piece as it develops.

Much of the work is influenced by landscape and atmosphere — particularly the Cornish coast — though it’s rarely about representation alone. I’m more interested in how a place feels than how it looks, and in capturing that sense through layered brushwork and bold, expressive colour.

Some paintings come together quickly, others take time. I often return to the same themes, reworking ideas until they settle into something resolved. Even within limited editions, no two works are ever identical; small changes, added texture, and hand-finishing ensure each piece remains individual.

Overdale Studios exists as a place to share this work openly — as original paintings, limited prints, and future collaborations — with the hope that the pieces find spaces where they can continue to live and evolve.

If you’re interested in a painting, have a question about availability, or would like to discuss a commission or collaboration, you’re very welcome to get in touch. I’m always happy to talk about the work, the process, or ideas for something new.
